With his victory Sunday night, Eli Manning won his second Super Bowl in four years. That victory raises the question, “Is Eli greater than Peyton?”
Eli has led two game winning drives in the Super Bowl, and is clearly the better PLAYOFF quarterback, but his stats in the regular season don’t compare to Peyton’s.
Peyton has thrown for 54,828 yards, and 399 touchdowns, nearly double Eli’s stats (27,579 yards, 185 touchdowns). Keep in mind, Peyton has played four more years than Eli, but it’s more like three because Peyton sat out the 2011 season.
There is no wrong answer for the question aforementioned, statistically Peyton is the better regular season quarterback, but that means nothing if you don’t have the “clutch gene” in the postseason, which Eli clearly has.
